Why do you want to be a governor?

I feel I now have the time to devote to an organisation of which I am proud and with which I am familiar.

What skills do you feel you couldbring to the role?

As a previous Non-Executive Director (Vice-Chair) I feel I have a good strategic knowledge of the Trust particularly as I helped at a time when it became both a Foundation and a University Trust.  Obviously I will need refreshing.

I am conscious of the need for quality provision for all age ranges - especially as I work at Bournemouth University - and am concerned about the situation post-Covid.  As Vice-Chair I was asked to keep a watching brief on the Community Hospitals and am a passionate advocate of their local services - Wimborne is my "local". The wellbeing of staff is crucial and I was able to establish an HR Committee for the Trust which was a rewarding process across Dorset as the Trust expanded. In addition I was Audit Committee Chair which gave me a grasp of the then financial situation and how NHS funding works. In the wider world in recent years I have been a Board Member of Dorset's Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP)

which kept me in touch with Dorset's business economy.
