Adult psychology service

The Adult Psychology Service (APS) provides psychological interventions to individuals who are under the care of a CMHT in Dorset. The service consists of counselling and clinical psychologists, specialist therapists, art therapists and assistant psychologists.

The service is organised into three locality teams, with locality team leads, each responsible for delivery of APS interventions in the three geographical localities of Dorset – Bournemouth and Christchurch, Poole, Wimborne and Purbecks and West Dorset.

Psychological interventions are delivered in an individual, family, or group format, conducted either in person or via online platforms. In addition, APS also offers training, supervision and consultation to community mental health (CMHT) staff and other staff groups to ensure they are also able to work psychologically in the most clinically effective way.
